EMPLOYMENT LAW
  • On behalf of employees, we negotiate and litigate all manner of employment disputes, to redress violation of the law as to overtime pay, discriminatory discharge and other adverse treatment.
  • On behalf of employers, we counsel the client as to prudent employment strategies with the goal of limiting frivolous claims; advise the employer where the employee is to be separated from employment and where it is warranted, defend the employer when sued by the employee.

CONDOMINIUM AND COOPERATIVE LAW
  • We advise and counsel associations as to governance issues, and compliance with the law at all levels. We also litigate to enforce rules of the association and to protect the association's financial stability, and quality of life.
  • We also represent individual unit owners where plausible claims of unlawful discrimination or ultra vires acts of the association have occurred.

  • We counsel non-profit organizations as to employer-employee relations, breach of contract actions, and real estate transactions.
  • We advise 501 (c)(3) organizations as to IRS rules on political activity.

LANDLORD – TENANT
  • We represent landlords and tenants in forcible entry and detainer actions.
  • We also file forcible actions on behalf of condominium associations to enforce condo rules and collect assessments

HOUSING DISCRIMINATION
  • We represent individuals who believe they are victims of housing discrimination in sale or rental, whether on the basis of race, national origin, or disability.
  • We will negotiate and litigate under the U.S. Fair Housing Act, Illinois Human Rights Act, as well as local ordinances.
  • Our expertise in this area includes representation of condominium owners and tenants who have disabilities and have been denied an accommodation in violation of state, local and/or federal law.
