Denise M. DeBelle
Background

By the time she was admitted to the Bar in 1990, Denise DeBelle had more than ten years of demonstrated commitment to the betterment of communities and to advancing equality for all segments of our society.

Graduating with a bachelor's degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois-Urbana, Ms. DeBelle had worked in the non-profit and mortgage banking arena to develop housing for low income and minority people in metropolitan Chicago. Among her areas of expertise was a knowledge of fair housing law and government assisted housing, gained from her work for the Metropolitan Housing Development Corporation, the plaintiff developer in the landmark Supreme Court case, MHDC v. Arlington Heights. She also had worked for a variety of non-profit organizations in community planning and economic development including the Edgewater Community Council where she was Project Director.

Her current office is located in the Uptown community where she is discovering new and exciting opportunities to be involved.
